Point-to-point trips

Each day you move to a new place to stay. Your route may cross a region in a line or form a loop back to your starting point. Point-to-point travel is a Grand Angle speciality.

Single-centre holidays

Stay in one place for the whole trip and explore the surrounding region. We arrange short transfers so that your walks do not always start from the same spot.

Multi-centre trips

Spend at least two nights in each place to stay. This combines the comfort of a single base with the variety of a point-to-point journey.

Please note:

  • You regularly alternate between these two types of trip.
  • Some of our trips are available in both versions, though the itineraries are never exactly the same.

FAQ

I’m feeling tired. Would a single-centre holiday be a better choice?

Not necessarily; a point-to-point trip gives you more of a change of scenery. Choose an easy route that suits you. A single-centre holiday, on the other hand, lets you settle in more fully. It all depends on the kind of tiredness you are experiencing and what you want from your trip.

Is the accommodation on a single-centre holiday more comfortable?

Not necessarily, but it often is, as it can be difficult to book rooms for two people for a group staying just one night.

Am I guaranteed a single room on a single-centre holiday?

As with point-to-point and multi-centre trips, only a limited number of single rooms are available for a group, but yes, securing one is often easier.

Is a point-to-point trip more difficult than a single-centre holiday?

Not at all, provided they have the same stated difficulty level.

Is packing every day on a point-to-point trip complicated and tiresome?

No, as you only have one bag. If you don’t enjoy packing, a multi-centre trip is a good compromise.
