- One bag for luggage transfers: a backpack, a travel bag in good condition or a suitcase that is not too bulky. One bag per person, limited to 20 kg
Country: Spain
Archipelago: Balearic Islands
Highest point: Puig Major (1445m)
Largest city: Palma
Population: 873414 inhabitants
Clichés abound about the largest of the Balearic Islands. Yet Mallorca is much more than sunshine, beaches and hotels.
In the heart of Mallorca, sleepy villages sit amid farmland, olive groves and almond trees whose white blossoms blanket the landscape in February. The archipelago’s capital, Palma de Mallorca, holds some delightful surprises behind the walls of its old town.
As for the twisting Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is truly spellbinding. Stretching along the island’s entire west coast, it plunges towards the sea in dramatic cliffs and rugged peaks, rising to more than 1000m above the water. Here, the few hill towns and villages, surrounded by citrus groves, are mirrored by charming little ports tucked into tiny coves, reached along wildly winding roads with countless bends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comment sent by Christine in OctoberA magnificent island; the agency did a great job organizing the trek; the hotels were comfortable and pleasant after a day of hiking; the driver was super friendly, always smiling, and very knowledgeable about the routes and sights. It was an amazing experience—I’d do it all over again tomorrow and would recommend it without reservation.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comment sent by Evelyne in JulyA magnificent hike, very varied. The on-site agent (Javi) was very competent and friendly, and taught us a lot about Menorca, its history, its wildlife, its flora and its birds, and orchestrated our stay perfectly. A hike best done in spring or autumn.
