Why travel to the Far North?

The Far North captivates with its striking contrasts: the midnight sun in summer, the northern lights in winter, and the unique feeling of being at the edge of the world while still in Europe. Our leading destinations – Norway, Sweden, Finland and Spitsbergen – offer unique experiences to suit your sense of adventure.

Lapland reveals its vast wilderness and enduring Sámi culture, while the Norwegian fjords shape magnificent landscapes. The Lofoten Islands combine jagged peaks and white sandy beaches, creating a setting unlike anywhere else in the world.

How do our trips work?

Self-guided trips

Our self-guided trips give you complete independence, with a planned itinerary, booked accommodation and detailed route notes. Ideal for those who want to explore at their own pace while benefiting from our logistical expertise.

Group trips

Our group trips bring together 8 to 16 participants with an expert guide. This option encourages shared experiences and cultural discovery, with the peace of mind of a fully organised trip.

When should you travel to the Far North?

Each season reveals a different side of the Far North. Summer (June–August) brings the midnight sun and ideal conditions for hiking and cycling. Autumn reveals the vibrant colours of the tundra, while winter offers the unique experience of the polar night and the northern lights.

For Nordic skiing, the best period runs from January to April, depending on the region. Winter activities such as snowshoeing in Finland and multi-activity holidays enjoy the best conditions from December to March.

The Far North with your family

The Far North is wonderfully suited to family holidays. Our specially adapted trips allow children to discover this unspoilt natural world safely. In Norway or Lapland, they will enjoy unique moments: watching reindeer, trying Nordic activities and discovering Sámi culture. Our family-friendly accommodation and adapted itineraries ensure lasting memories for all ages, while respecting everyone’s pace.

Tips for choosing your trip

For your first experience of the Far North, choose accessible destinations such as southern Norway or central Sweden. Experienced travellers can venture to #Spitsbergen or deep into Lapland.

Our expert travel advisers help you choose your destination according to your interests, fitness level and travel dates. Feel free to contact us for personalised advice based on our first-hand knowledge of these extraordinary regions.
