Your snowshoe journey in Europe with Grand Angle

Discovering the mountains in winter, away from crowds and ski lifts, is a unique experience. Our snowshoe holidays are designed to immerse you in winter nature, in complete safety and with an organisation that leaves you free to enjoy every moment.

Why choose snowshoeing?

Snowshoeing is one of the most accessible ways to explore the mountains in winter. It requires no complex technique and allows you to venture over varied terrain, from deep forests to panoramic ridges. It’s the ideal activity for rejuvenation, observing wildlife tracks and appreciating the absolute peace of landscapes under their white blanket.

For those who prefer the pleasures of sliding, we also offer Nordic ski touring holidays or cross-country skiing holidays.

Our options: freedom or group, your choice

Every traveller has their own definition of adventure. That’s why we offer two ways to experience it:

  • Independent holidays : For those who love walking at their own pace. We organise all the logistics (accommodation, luggage transfers, meals) and provide you with a complete travel package with maps and detailed itinerary. It’s the perfect option for independent immersion and complete confidence.
  • Group holidays : Share meaningful moments with other enthusiasts and benefit from the expertise of a qualified mountain guide. They will guide you off the beaten path, share their knowledge of the terrain and ensure group safety. It’s an excellent option for solo travellers or those wishing to deepen their exploration of a destination.

What types of snowshoe holidays to match your preferences?

Winter comes in many forms. Our holidays are designed to meet different aspirations:

  • Relaxation and wellness: Combine the pleasure of walking with moments of relaxation through our snowshoe stays and spa or wellness retreats.
  • Short getaways: Don’t have time for a full week? Our three-day snowshoeing formats are perfect for an invigorating break.
  • For all levels: We offer routes suited to everyone, including snowshoe stays for seniors at a gentler pace.
  • Low-carbon travel: Many of our departures are designed to be accessible by train, to limit your ecological footprint.

  • Other French mountain ranges: Discover the ridges of the Pyrenees, the deep forests of Jura or the sleeping volcanoes of Central Massif.

Practical advice for your stay

The snowshoe season generally extends from late December to early April, depending on altitude and mountain ranges. January and February are often the coldest months with the best snow cover, while March offers longer and milder days.

If you prefer sunshine in winter, see our selection of winter treks in the sun.

Each trip is detailed with a difficulty level (from 1 to 5). Consider the daily elevation gain and the duration of stages to choose a route suited to your fitness level. Don’t hesitate to contact us, our advisors are here to help you find the perfect stay.

Snowshoeing as a family

Snowshoeing is a fun and wonderful activity to share with the family. It’s a gentle introduction to winter mountain life, where snowball fights and tracking animal traces punctuate the days. We have designed multi-activity stays suited to the youngest, with short stages and comfortable accommodation for memorable family nature holidays.
