Walking in Scotland is offering yourself an immersion in a nature where the force of the elements has sculpted landscapes of striking beauty. It is also a journey through time, on the trails of the clans and legends that populate the Highlands. Our field expertise, refined since 1983 from the fjords of Norway to Great Britain, guarantees you an authentic and serene experience.
Scotland is a destination that captures the hearts of hikers. Its landscapes, of great diversity, range from the bogs of Rannoch Moor to the peaks of the Munros, along the dark waters of emblematic lochs. It is the promise of complete escape, where each day of walking reveals a new panorama. The famous Scottish “right to roam” testifies to a culture where nature is a shared space of freedom, a philosophy in perfect alignment with the spirit of Grand Angle travels.
We have selected for you iconic trails that capture the very essence of the Highlands.
It is undoubtedly the country’s most famous long-distance trail. A true concentration of Scotland to discover at your own pace.
Connecting Fort William to Inverness, the Great Glen Way follows the great geological fault that cuts Scotland in two. It is a more woodland and peaceful hike, ideal for those seeking to immerse themselves in the serenity of Scottish landscapes.
Our self-guided hiking trips in Scotland are designed to offer you maximum independence while benefiting from flawless organisation. We handle the booking of your accommodation (B&Bs, hostels or charming hotels), the transport of your luggage from one stage to the next and we provide you with a detailed route guide with maps and precise directions. You just need to lace up your shoes and enjoy every moment, with a light heart.
The best period runs from May to September and we strongly recommend packing an umbrella in your backpack.
The key is the three-layer system to adapt to temperature variations. Quality waterproof equipment (jacket and over-trousers) is essential, as are good hiking boots already broken in to your feet. Don’t forget a repellent against midges – Highland mosquitoes – for summer evenings and a hat. For a more complete list, consult our tips for packing your hiking backpack properly.
Each traveller is unique. Our experts, passionate about Scotland, are at your disposal to help you choose the itinerary that best matches your wishes and your level. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your travel project.

— A very beautiful hike that really takes you away from it all. There are a few sections near the road that are noisy and a bit long; these should be marked. As for the accommodations, despite the extra charge, some fell short in terms of cleanliness and comfort.

— Disappointing hike, not as wild as we'd hoped. Much of it is done along the main road, and even when it's on the other side of the loch, you can hear traffic noise all the time!
Thank you for your feedback. The West Highland Way offers a beautiful variety of landscapes, including lochs, forests, and mountains. It’s true that some sections run alongside roads, but these alternate with many wild and unspoiled stretches, particularly in the Highlands and on Rannoch Moor. For an even more secluded experience, we’d be happy to recommend other routes that might better suit your preferences.
