Your snowshoe trek in the Pyrenees with Grand Angle

Walking in fresh snow, listening to the silence of forests and high altitude plateaus, sharing a convivial moment by the fireside… A snowshoeing holiday is a genuine immersion in winter nature. The Pyrenees, with their wild character and magnificent panoramas, offer ideal terrain for this activity.

Why choose the Pyrenees for snowshoeing?

Unlike other mountain ranges, the Pyrenees in winter retain a wild spirit and sought-after tranquillity. The massif offers incredible landscape diversity: from the deep forests of Ariège to the sun-drenched ridges of Eastern Pyrenees, passing through majestic cirques such as Gavarnie. It is the promise of an authentic experience, where the effort of walking is always rewarded by the beauty of the places you pass through.

Our snowshoe trek options in the Pyrenees

Our snowshoeing trips in the Pyrenees include guided group holidays. Accompanied by a qualified mountain guide passionate about their region, you move safely along routes they have selected for their interest and beauty. Small group travel fosters conversation and conviviality, and you have nothing to worry about: accommodation, meals and logistics are all managed by us for complete peace of mind.

In other destinations, we offer self-guided holidays.

Snowshoeing and wellbeing: the alliance of body and mind

For those wishing to combine physical activity and relaxation, several of our treks offer a wellbeing approach. After a lovely day of walking in dry cold, you will appreciate the comfort of accommodation with a relaxation area. It is the perfect opportunity to discover our snowshoeing and spa packages, one of our specialities for complete rejuvenation.

Discover other mountain ranges by snowshoe

Our expertise in winter hiking extends far beyond the Pyrenees. If you love the activity, we offer snowshoe treks in the Alps, particularly in preserved areas such as Queyras or Chartreuse, as well as in Jura and Vercors. Each massif has its own character, a new atmosphere to discover.

Practical advice for your snowshoe trek

When to go to the Pyrenees?

The ideal season for snowshoeing in the Pyrenees generally runs from late December to late March, when snow cover is optimal. Travelling during the year-end festivities offers a special atmosphere, whilst February and March offer often longer and sunnier days.

How to choose your trek?

To choose well, we recommend checking the difficulty level indicated on each trip description, which takes into account the duration of stages and daily elevation gain. Some of our treks are easily accessible by train, a practical and ecological criterion. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact our advisors; their on-the-ground expertise is your best asset for finding the journey that suits you.

What about snowshoe outings as a family?

Although the treks presented on this page are aimed primarily at an adult audience, Grand Angle also designs family nature holidays. We offer itineraries adapted to children’s pace, with shorter distances and fun activities. If a family winter hiking project interests you, contact us to explore custom possibilities.
