What better way to celebrate the New Year 2027 than with a walking holiday or a cycling trip through countries full of things to discover?
A short walking getaway for New Year — what a lovely idea! These holidays are generally shorter, 4 to 5 days, though not all of them are. The idea is to take a break: a chance to breathe deeply in the middle of winter.
The rest is up to you, and there is plenty to choose from. First, snow or warmth: head to the mountains or further south, near the Mediterranean, or further south still, to the islands or North Africa. Then choose your activity: cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, walking or cycling, with a more rugged experience or the comfort of a hotel, depending on your tastes… and your chosen destination. Finally, and very importantly, who will you go with? Family, friends, or other people also looking for a little winter treat. Not to mention your guide, who would love nothing more than to get some fresh air and walk off those Christmas chocolates. And as always, if you are a group of friends and cannot find what you are looking for below, ask us for a tailor-made New Year’s Eve walking holiday!
For snow, the choice is obvious: the middle of winter is the right season. The same goes for destinations further south. In the Mediterranean region, winters are generally dry and therefore sunny, and along the shores of the Mediterranean, temperatures are often very pleasant in late December, with a few flowers already in bloom. The short days are no problem at all: there is still enough daylight to make the most of your time. Further south, the days get longer and winter disappears altogether — all the better!
Of course, there is always an evening of celebration, whether traditional or a little different.
It is the ideal way to recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature before starting the new year.

— Very nice trek: magnificent scenery and beautiful refuge lost in the Montgarri valley, yet so close (in distance) to the tourist hustle and bustle of Baqueira-Beret.

— A complete break from everyday life!

— A sunny interlude between two years.

— a stay rich in botanical discoveries (thanks to our guide's knowledge)…once again, we saw at first hand the damage that over-visiting a site can cause, but we also noted with interest the efforts made to protect the environment and regenerate it… beautiful viewpoints
