Walk, cycle, then listen: our ideas for festivals on your travels

Crowd with hands raised at an outdoor music festival

A concert after a day of walking or cycling makes a pleasant change of pace on a trip. We have brought together a few festivals held in regions we explore. Dates, exact venues and programmes change with each edition: always check the official website before booking transport, accommodation or a ticket.

In the Vercors

The Vercors Music Festival takes place in Autrans-Méaudre-en-Vercors. Its programme and information on access are published on the festival website.

To extend your stay, explore the mountain range on our Self-guided Tour of the Vercors, our Guided Tour of the Vercors or by bike on the Vercors Heritage Trails.

In the Dolomites

I Suoni delle Dolomiti offers mountain concerts in Trentino. Some events require a walk to reach the venue: the organisers provide details of the location, time, difficulty of access and what to do in bad weather.

Sounds of the Dolomites

Our routes do not necessarily pass close to your chosen concert. Compare its location with the itinerary for your walking holiday in the Dolomites before changing a day’s route.

On the shores of Lake Constance

The Bregenz Festival is particularly well known for its stage on the lake. The production, dates and ticketing arrangements vary with each edition.

The Tour of Lake Constance and its variant including the Rhine Falls offer a way to explore the region by bike.

In Vienne, along the ViaRhôna

Jazz à Vienne takes place at several venues across the town, including the Roman theatre. The official website remains the reference for the programme and entry conditions.

Our ViaRhôna from Condrieu to Avignon starts near Vienne: an extra night may allow you to attend a concert, depending on your travel dates.

In Oslo

Øyafestivalen brings together Norwegian and international artists in Oslo. Check the official calendar if you would like to combine it with a trip to Norway.

In Pollença, Mallorca

The Pollença Festival presents concerts in the town. Venues and dates are announced for each edition.

To combine music and walking, check whether the festival calendar fits with our The Charm of Mallorca: Staying in Fincas holiday.

These combinations are ideas for extending your trip. The festivals are organised independently of Grand Angle and are not included in our holidays unless explicitly stated in the trip description.
