Your stay in Alsace with Grand Angle: answers to your questions

Why choose Alsace for your next adventure?

Alsace offers a mosaic of experiences for active travel enthusiasts. It is a region with two faces: on one side, the Vosges massif with its rounded peaks, deep forests and high-altitude lakes, a perfect playground for hiking. On the other, its Wine Route, a legendary itinerary that winds between villages with half-timbered houses and renowned vineyards. Whether you are a fan of hiking in the Vosges massif or #bike rides on the Wine Route, Alsace promises you a complete escape, between nature and heritage.

Hiking or biking, in a group or self-guided: which option for you?

At Grand Angle, we know that each traveler has different expectations. That is why we offer our Alsace stays according to your desires:

  • The #hiking tours in Alsace : Explore the marked trails of the Club Vosgien, from panoramic ridges to wine country paths. Our itineraries are designed to introduce you to the most beautiful natural and cultural sites of the massif.
  • The #bike tours in Alsace : Travel along the cycling paths that run along the canals or the Wine Route. The gentle terrain of the wine region is ideal for a leisurely discovery, accessible at different levels.
  • Our travel options: Choose a guided tour with one of our guides to share a friendly and enriching experience. If you prefer independence, our self-guided tours are perfect for you: we handle the logistics (accommodations, luggage transport, detailed guidebook) and you enjoy at your own pace.

Alsace for families: an accessible and fun destination

With its safe cycling paths, its hiking trails without major technical difficulty and its many fortified castles that spark imagination, Alsace is a prime destination for family nature holidays. Our stays, such as discovering the Wine Route by bike as a family, are specially designed with short stages and accommodations suited for both children and adults to share moments of togetherness.

What is the best time to visit Alsace?

Alsace can be discovered throughout the seasons. Spring is ideal for seeing nature awaken and the vines bud. Summer offers long sunny days, perfect for hiking on the ridges. Autumn dresses the wine region in golden colors and coincides with the lively harvest season. Finally, winter transforms the Vosges into a white paradise for snowshoe trip enthusiasts, not to mention the unique atmosphere of Christmas markets.

Beyond Alsace: other horizons to explore

Travelers who appreciate medium mountain landscapes and Alsace terroirs often find themselves in the atmosphere of the neighboring Black Forest or on the trails of the Jura massif. These regions share a strong cultural identity and hiking and biking itineraries just as captivating.

Your stay in Alsace can also be the starting point for exploring other treks in France. In winter, the Vosges transform into an ideal playground for Nordic activities, an excellent introduction before discovering, for example, our snowshoe trips in France, in the Alps or the Massif Central.

Michèle 6/23/26

—  A very successful hike that met our expectations. It gives a very good overview of Alsace.

ARNOUX jean-claude 10/1/26

—  A very beautiful route, although the on-site signage isn't always clear. Comfortable hotels.

Florence 9/12/26

—  Warm welcome. Well-chosen hotels and well-maintained bikes, but the length of the rides varied greatly from day to day.

Astride 1/7/26

—  This trip was a hiking trip rather than a snowshoeing trip due to lack of snow. The organization was well done, and the transfers appreciated. As for the group's complicity and respect for the participants… the agency had nothing to do with it.
