Why explore Sardinia with Grand Angle?

An island with many faces

Defying expectations, Sardinia is an island that feels like a continent, offering a striking variety of landscapes. Beyond its turquoise waters lies a wild, mountainous heart, criss-crossed by shepherds' trails and dotted with Nuragic remains dating back thousands of years. We invite you to discover this contrast between a spectacular coastline and an authentic interior. Unlike other Mediterranean destinations, Sardinia has preserved a strong identity, a pastoral culture and untamed nature, offering a rich travel experience and a complete change of scene. Every holiday in Sardinia promises immersion in a part of Italy unlike any other.

Travel at your own pace in Sardinia: self-guided or in a group

At Grand Angle, we know that adventure is a personal experience. That is why we offer two ways to discover Sardinia:

  • Our self-guided holidays : For those who love independence. We arrange all the logistics in advance: charming accommodation, luggage transfers and a detailed route guide. You set off with peace of mind, following the itinerary at your own pace, with the reassurance of our unobtrusive support whenever you need it.
  • Our guided walking holidays : For those who value shared experiences and expertise. Led by an enthusiastic local guide, you benefit from their knowledge of the terrain, wildlife and Sardinian culture. The group brings companionship and an enriching social dimension to the experience.

On foot or by bike: which adventure suits you?

Sardinia is wonderfully suited to both activities, each offering a different perspective on its treasures.

  • A walking holiday in Sardinia takes you into the heart of the Supramonte or Gennargentu mountains. It is an immersive way to explore, following mule trails that wind between holm oaks, with views over deep canyons and hidden coves.
  • A #cycling holiday in Sardinia is ideal for exploring the winding coastal roads. You follow wild stretches of coastline, discover colourful fishing villages and stop at authentic agriturismo farm stays, enjoying the sea breeze and the freedom to pause wherever you please.

If you love Italy, discover our other favourite destinations too, such as treks in the Dolomites or our cycling holidays in Tuscany.

Our tips for your trip to Sardinia

When should you visit Sardinia?

To make the most of walking or cycling, spring (April to June) and autumn (September and October) are the ideal seasons. Temperatures are mild, nature is abundant – particularly in spring when the Mediterranean scrub is in bloom – and there are fewer visitors. May and September are especially popular for their ideal weather conditions.

How do you choose from our tours in Sardinia?

Your choice will depend on what you enjoy. If you are looking for coastal scenery, panoramic roads and opportunities to explore small harbour towns, our cycling tours along the west coast or the Costa Smeralda will meet your expectations. If you are a walker drawn to wild mountains, steep trails and ancient history, our guided trek in the Supramonte is for you. Feel free to contact our travel advisers for help refining your plans.

Is Sardinia a good choice for families?

Absolutely. Sardinia offers a wonderful setting for family holidays in nature. A mix of accessible cycling stages, coastal walks and swimming breaks makes for a balanced itinerary that parents and children alike will enjoy. Although the holidays featured on this page are mainly intended for adults, we can design a tailor-made family trip to Italy. Contact us so we can create a Sardinian adventure together that suits your family.

—  We covered 550 km with 5,500 m of elevation gain without any difficulty, thanks to the high-quality e-bikes we rented. The routes were very well planned and allowed us to visit the sites listed along the way and enjoy the beautiful hidden beaches along the route. The hotels offered were all unique in style, well-located, clean, comfortable, and cyclist-friendly.

—  ready to set off again with a wide angle, we enjoyed everything more: the journeys on little-travelled roads, the Sardinian heritage and food, the welcome
