Brittany is a destination of choice for all walkers, thanks to the diversity of its landscapes and its natural and cultural heritage. The coastal path, or GR®34, which runs along the entire Breton coast for more than 2000 km, is an exceptional thread for discovering the region. It takes you through iconic sites such as the Pink Granite Coast with its unique rock formations, the Emerald Coast, the inlets of Finistère and the Gulf of Morbihan with its archipelago of islands. Each stretch of coast offers a different atmosphere, between steep cliffs, fine sandy beaches, authentic fishing ports and rocky headlands offering breathtaking views.
To meet the needs of each trekker, we offer two ways to experience Brittany.
Self-guided trekking: Ideal if you seek autonomy and flexibility. We organise all the logistics in advance: accommodation bookings, luggage transport between stages and provision of a detailed route guide. You walk at your own pace, alone, as a couple or with friends, fully enjoying the landscapes. This is the perfect formula for a self-guided trek in France in complete peace.
Guided group trekking: If you prefer sharing, conviviality and gaining knowledge, this formula is for you. A guide, specialist in the region, leads you throughout the route, sharing their knowledge of local wildlife, flora and heritage. The small group makes it easy to share the experience and meet fellow walkers. Discover our guided treks in France for an all-inclusive experience.
When to trek in Brittany? Brittany is pleasantly discovered from April to October. Spring is ideal for observing nature in bloom and enjoying magnificent light. Summer offers long sunny days, perfect for walking and water activities. Autumn, often mild, dresses the landscapes in warm colours and offers a more peaceful atmosphere.
How to choose your stay? Evaluate the duration and difficulty level that suit you. Our stays are graded by level to help you find one that matches your fitness level. Do not hesitate to contact us for personalised advice to build the trip that suits you.
With generally moderate elevation changes along the coast, Brittany is a destination accessible to a wide audience, including nature holidays with the family. For those wishing to combine effort and comfort, some of our stays offer trekking and wellness formulas, such as in Roscoff. And for an original year-end break, treat yourself to a New Year trek in an invigorating maritime setting, such as the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
Travellers who enjoy Breton coastal paths are often attracted to other maritime destinations with strong character. If wild coasts and Celtic legends appeal to you, the trails of trekking in Ireland or the spectacular landscapes of a trek in Scotland could be your next adventures. For those wishing to discover Brittany from another angle, the region can also be explored on two wheels. Cycling in Brittany offers magnificent routes, particularly along the Vélomaritime, for a different and equally enriching exploration.

— What a wonderful trip along the Pink Granite Coast. A varied itinerary that allowed us to discover the diversity and richness of the GR34 every day, led by a passionate guide who was eager to share the rich history and culture of Brittany—enriched by his work as a stonemason the rest of the year. The hotels were very comfortable, allowing us to relax after returning from our hikes. I’ll be back on my own to see these landscapes again—this time at high tide.
