After a day exploring the trails, what could be more fitting than taking some time to recover? This philosophy guides our holidays combining gentle physical activity with body treatments. Beyond physical achievement, the aim is to reconnect with nature and yourself, enjoying a slower, more mindful pace.
Alternating between exercise and relaxation brings many benefits. Physical activity during the day energises the body, releases tension and opens the mind to the landscapes you pass through. The relaxation that follows, whether in a spa, a hammam or during a massage, supports optimal muscle recovery and prolongs that feeling of calm. This combination helps clear away accumulated fatigue and stress, leaving you refreshed in both body and mind. This is the very essence of our hiking and wellness holidays.
At Grand Angle, we know that every traveller has their own preferences. That is why we offer different activities on our holidays focused on relaxation.
A mainstay of our wellness holidays. The routes on our hiking holidays are designed to be accessible, leaving you with plenty of energy to enjoy the relaxation facilities at our partner accommodation.
In winter, the magic takes a different form. After an outing in the hushed silence of the snow, the contrast with the warmth of a bath or sauna is particularly welcome. Discover the charm of our snowshoeing and spa holidays for a complete Nordic experience.
These terms describe complementary approaches to water-based treatments. Thalassotherapy draws on the benefits of seawater and the marine climate, so it is available exclusively on the coast. Balneotherapy, meanwhile, uses fresh water, often enriched with essential oils or seaweed, and can be practised anywhere, including in the mountains. Spa is a broader term for a wellness centre that may include a hammam, sauna, hot tub and massage rooms, regardless of the type of water used. Our holiday descriptions specify the facilities available to help you find the best match for your expectations.
The key is to choose a difficulty level suited to your fitness, so that the exercise remains enjoyable. Our holidays are graded by difficulty to help you find your way. Whatever the season, a destination awaits you. Feel free to contact us: our experts can advise you and help you find the holiday that suits you.
While most of these holidays are designed around the peace and quiet often sought by adults, some of our options can be suitable for spending time together. For adventures specifically designed for children and adults alike, explore our range of family nature holidays.
Travellers who appreciate the balance of our wellness holidays are often drawn to the charm of our point-to-point holidays, which offer a gradual immersion in a region. If the peaks are calling, discover our full range of mountain hiking holidays in France for more inspiration.

— Beautiful Hikes The scenery is beautiful, and the trails are well-maintained. Some of the hikes are a bit more challenging than you’d expect for a Level 2 hike. Very pleasant accommodations: the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The meals are varied, and we really enjoyed the pool.

— Very positive feedback on the hikes: - Routes carefully selected by our guide to showcase the beautiful scenery and avoid overly crowded trails - A guide who knows the Cantal Massif, its geology, and its flora very well—and is very interesting - A guide who pays close attention to each person However, you’ve rated this hike as “2 shoes,” while others rate it as “3 shoes,” which better reflects the difficulty level of this trip. Please take this comment into account, as it could cause confusion for some people. Mixed reviews on the meals: - For hikers, breakfast is insufficient. It lacks yogurt, fruit, soft-boiled eggs, and good-quality bread. The baguette was very mediocre. Dinner was very good—a stark contrast to breakfast. There needs to be a better balance between the two.
Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the difficulty level, we fully understand your point. Rating systems can vary from one organization to another, and we don’t all use the same standards. That’s why, in addition to the “2-shoe” rating, we provide very specific details about the elevation gain and distance for each stage on our website and in the trip’s technical description. This information allows everyone to assess the route based on their own abilities and hiking experience.
We’ve also taken note of your comments regarding breakfast and will pass them on to our partner. Thank you for these suggestions!
