Burgundy offers a unique diversity of landscapes and atmospheres in France, making it a choice destination for cycle tourism. Its routes are mostly flat and secure, particularly along the canals, making them accessible to all levels. It is a region that harmoniously combines preserved nature, exceptional historical heritage with its castles and abbeys, and world-renowned gastronomy. Choosing a stay in Burgundy ensures a rich experience of cultural discoveries and simple pleasures.
Our independent trips are the ideal solution if you seek autonomy without logistical constraints. We handle your accommodation reservations and baggage transport. All you need to do is follow the detailed roadbook we provide and enjoy every moment in complete peace of mind. If you enjoy conviviality and sharing, our group trips are for you. Accompanied by a regional expert guide, you benefit from their local knowledge and share unique moments with other enthusiasts. A perfect way to let yourself be carried along and experience a collective adventure.
Burgundy has many facets, from peaceful waterways to the more pronounced terrain of Morvan. Our routes are designed to match each cyclist profile.
Let yourself be soothed by the rhythm of locks on the Burgundy Canal or the Nivernais Canal. These routes, almost entirely flat, are perfect for a first cycling trip in France and for families. They take you through bucolic countryside, dotted with charming villages.
Follow the famous Wine Route and travel through villages with evocative names like Pommard, Meursault, or Gevrey-Chambertin. This slightly hillier route is an invitation to wine discovery and appreciation of a landscape shaped by centuries of winemaking tradition.
For cyclists seeking a sportier challenge and immersion in nature, the Great Morvan Crossing by mountain bike is unmissable. Traverse deep forests, lakes, and hills at the heart of the regional natural park. A breath of fresh air for a nature trip in France.
Burgundy is ideally discovered by bike from spring to autumn. Spring offers lush green landscapes and blooming flowers, summer brings long sunny days, while autumn dresses the vineyards in spectacular colours, especially during harvest.
A hybrid bike (all-terrain cycle) is perfectly suited to most routes, particularly the canals and wine roads. For the Morvan crossing, a mountain bike is essential. For more comfort on the vineyard slopes, consider an electric bike trip, an option we offer on several of our stays.
Even on easy routes, good preparation is recommended. Make sure to choose a stay suited to your fitness level. For any questions about preparing your trip, equipment, or personalised advice, do not hesitate to contact us. Our team of experts is here to support you.
