The Czech Republic, or Czechia, is of course known for Prague, a magnificent city in Central Europe with exceptional architectural heritage and a delightfully romantic atmosphere. However, the natural assets for hiking or cycling in this region with dreamlike landscapes are much less known: its magnificently preserved forests, its stone cities with surprising geological formations, and its castles straight out of a fairy tale.
Though discreet, the Czech Republic is not renowned as a hiking or trekking destination. Yet, like giant treasure hunts, numerous trails crisscross the natural parks and protected areas of Bohemia. To the north, the paths of Czech Switzerland National Park, as well as those of the famous Czech Paradise, invite hikers to discover amazing stone arches, to wander through labyrinthine formations, to wind through peaceful gorges. Rising onto promontories, the hiker embraces the horizon and contemplates inspiring landscapes with changing light. Both close and preserved, the Czech Republic is best enjoyed on foot, in freedom or in guided form, a beautiful surprise for lovers of culture and nature.
By bike, from Prague to Dresden, the route follows the banks of the Elbe, one of the great rivers of Europe that originates in Czechia and flows due north through Germany. Over the days, along magnificent banks, taking small roads or well-maintained cycle paths, the cyclist covers the kilometres effortlessly, captivated by the discovery of a peaceful river landscape unfolding in widescreen format. Renaissance castles, fortified cities, historic towns complete an idyllic tableau where it is pleasant to pause and absorb the wonders of our European history. One of the most beautiful cycling itineraries to share with family or friends!

— Beautiful country roads - beautiful villages - a change of scenery
Marie 12/27/25
— It's not your fault, but the weather wasn't very favorable and most of the beergartens along the Elbe and Vltava rivers were closed, so we couldn't stop when we wanted to. But the route is beautiful, very pleasant and very well signposted.

— Superb region, well organized, comfortable hotels, too bad the bikes aren't up to scratch.
Thank you for your positive feedback on the region, the organization, and the accommodations. We’re sorry that the bikes didn’t meet your expectations. This is the first time we’ve received negative feedback on this issue, and we’ve already shared your feedback with our local partner so they can consider improvements. We place great importance on the quality of the equipment we provide and take your feedback very seriously.
