Go on a guided walking holiday in Corsica with Grand Angle

Corsica is a world-renowned walking destination, and for good reason. Its untamed natural beauty, enduring traditions and proud inhabitants make it an exceptional playground for anyone who loves walking. Grand Angle takes you along its most beautiful trails, with the assurance of an authentic, carefully organised experience.

Why choose Corsica for your next guided walking holiday?

The Isle of Beauty brings together a wealth of natural and cultural wonders:

  • Spectacular and varied landscapes: From the rocky spires of Bavella to the calanques of Piana, from Cinto’s mountain lakes to the deserted beaches along the coast, each day reveals a new scene. Corsica is a mountain rising from the sea, offering striking contrasts.
  • Legendary trails: The GR20, renowned as one of Europe’s most beautiful and challenging treks, attracts walkers from around the world. But Corsica also offers more accessible trails, such as the Mare e Monti and the Mare a Mare, which reveal other sides of the island.
  • A strong culture and identity: Explore authentic hilltop villages, experience Corsican hospitality, sample local flavours (cured meats, cheeses and wines), and let yourself be captivated by polyphonic singing.
  • The expertise of a local guide: Travelling with a Grand Angle guide means benefiting from their intimate knowledge of the terrain, wildlife, plants and local history. They look after your safety, enrich your experience and open the door to an authentic Corsica.

How do our guided walking holidays in Corsica work?

At Grand Angle, we do everything we can to make your holiday a success, combining adventure with peace of mind:

  • Expert, passionate guides: Our mountain guides are qualified professionals, often from the island itself. They keep you safe and share the stories of Corsica.
  • Small, friendly groups: We favour small groups (usually 6 to 12 people) to encourage conversation, a sense of togetherness and closer interaction with your guide and your surroundings.
  • Well-planned logistics: We take care of everything! Booking accommodation (mountain huts, guesthouses or hotels, depending on the itinerary), arranging meals and, above all, transporting your main luggage from one stage to the next on our GR20 trips with luggage transfers. You carry only your daypack.
  • Peace of mind comes first: Free yourself from the practicalities of organising a trip and focus fully on the pleasure of walking and discovering new places.

Which guided walking trip suits your interests?

Corsica offers a range of routes to suit different abilities and interests. With Grand Angle, you are sure to find a trip that suits you:

  • The GR20 challenge: Walk the legendary GR20, either in full or in sections (North or South), with the convenience of luggage transfers to lighten your load each day and let you fully enjoy the magnificent scenery. This is the ultimate active adventure.
  • The charms of the Mare e Monti Nord: A beautiful route linking the mountains to the sea, passing through picturesque villages and offering breathtaking views over the Gulf of Porto. A lovely alternative that is less technical than the GR20, with hotel accommodation for added comfort.
  • The authentic character of Cap Corse: Explore the island’s northern tip, a wild, unspoilt region with Genoese towers, fishing hamlets and coastal customs paths offering exceptional sea views.

Practical tips for your guided walking trip in Corsica

When should you take a guided trip to Corsica?

  • Spring *(May-June](/hiking/june)):* Nature is in bloom, temperatures are mild and the days are long. Ideal for most trails. See our selection of spring trips to Corsica ➜
  • Summer (July-August): Perfect for the GR20 with a guide at higher altitudes, where temperatures remain pleasant, but coastal and low-altitude trails can be very hot. A busy time of year.
  • Autumn (September-October): Temperatures become mild again, the colours are beautiful and there are fewer people. Swimming is still possible.

How should you choose your walking trip?

  • Assess your fitness level: The GR20 is demanding and requires excellent physical fitness and experience of mountain hiking. Other routes, such as the Mare e Monti or hikes in Cap Corse, are more accessible.
  • Decide what you want from your trip: Are you looking for a physical challenge, cultural discovery, coastal scenery or immersion in nature?
  • Read the trip details: Every Grand Angle trip has a detailed information sheet specifying the difficulty level, accommodation type, elevation gain and loss, and more. Feel free to contact our travel advisers for personalised advice.

Travelling as a family with a guide in Corsica

While the trips featured here, particularly the GR20, are intended for experienced hikers, often adults, Corsica also offers wonderful opportunities for family hikes. Some sections of the Mare e Monti, walks in Cap Corse and coastal trails can be suitable for families. For family adventures on the island known as the Isle of Beauty, feel free to browse our full range of trips or contact us so we can help you create a tailor-made holiday, combining the pleasure of walking with shared moments across generations, always with Grand Angle’s expertise and attention to safety.

—  The route is as difficult as stated in the brochure, even dangerous in some sections, but extraordinarily beautiful, all the more so as we had good weather all week. The guide was friendly and attentive whenever one of us ran into difficulty, and the welcome at the refuges was warm. To be done by fit people who aren't prone to vertigo!

—  The trip was better than described and the hotels and food were very comfortable and clean. The guide brought amazing snacks and even wine on the trail. The trip had the right level of difficulty described. The guide gave a lot of information about Corsica and history. I feel like the partner agency Corsica adventures put a lot of love into planning for their guests and it showed. Their passion for Corsica and the people is evident.
