Less well known than its neighbour Sicily, Sardinia is a land of contrasts that will delight cycle touring enthusiasts. Its winding roads follow an unspoilt coastline, leading from coves with clear waters to spectacular cliffs. Inland, you will cycle through rolling landscapes and cork oak forests, encountering mysterious nuraghes that bear witness to thousands of years of history. It is the ideal destination for combining the moderate exertion of a cycling holiday with swimming and discovering a culture and cuisine unique within Italy.
Our cycling tours in Sardinia are self-guided. The principle is simple: you travel independently, at your own pace, with the peace of mind that comes from seamless organisation. We book charming accommodation for you, transfer your luggage between overnight stops and provide detailed route notes and GPS tracks. It is the perfect option for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a destination without having to deal with the logistics. If you prefer the shared motivation of travelling with others, we also offer group holidays in many other destinations.
This page is dedicated to cycling, but Italy is just as well suited to exploring on foot. If you are torn between pedals and walking boots, Grand Angle also specialises in walking holidays in Italy. Explore the coastal paths of the Cinque Terre or take on the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. Every region has a distinctive character, whether you explore it on foot or by bike.
For mild temperatures and flourishing natural surroundings, spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the ideal seasons for cycling in Sardinia. Summer can be very hot, making cycling more demanding. To help you choose your route:
Our tours in Sardinia are designed for adults because of the climbs on some routes. However, electric bikes make cycling considerably easier and can make the holiday suitable for teenagers who already have cycling experience. For a tailor-made trip, please contact our advisers. They can guide you towards the best options for your family holiday in Italy, in Sardinia or in other suitable regions.

— We covered 550 km with 5,500 m of elevation gain without any difficulty, thanks to the high-quality e-bikes we rented. The routes were very well planned and allowed us to visit the sites listed along the way and enjoy the beautiful hidden beaches along the route. The hotels offered were all unique in style, well-located, clean, comfortable, and cyclist-friendly.
