Hotel classification

In France, more and more hotels and guesthouses are choosing not to have an official rating, including establishments that were still rated a year or two ago. This does not mean their quality has declined—far from it. Many guesthouses offer charming rooms.
If we indicate, for example, a comfort level of “3* or equivalent”: this means that the establishment does not necessarily have an official rating, but offers comfort equivalent to a 3* hotel.

Meals

Bed and breakfast is included. The towns where you stay have plenty of good places to eat, giving you the chance to discover the local cuisine.

Start

On Day 1 at your accommodation in Lannion. The exact meeting details will be confirmed with your booking.

End

On day 7 at the hotel in Lannion after breakfast.

By plane

Brest Airport is one possible arrival point. Check current onward rail and local transport connections to Lannion before booking your flight.

By train

Lannion is served by rail connections via Brittany. Check current routes and timetables with SNCF Connect before booking.

By car

Plan your route to Lannion from your arrival point and check current road conditions before departure.

Parking your car

Check current parking availability, terms and charges in Lannion before leaving your vehicle for the trip.

A number of our trips offer opportunities for swimming, during a stage or at the end of the day. It would be a shame not to make the most of them. However, we stress that you alone must decide whether it is appropriate to swim; you therefore swim under your own responsibility and at your own risk.

Member of Agir pour un Tourisme Responsable (ATR)

Since 2012, Grand Angle has been a member of ATR, the leading association for more responsible tourism. We design our trips – on foot, by bike and on snow – to invite everyone to discover the world differently: with curiosity, respect and kindness.

As a member of the board of directors since 2018, we actively help the sector develop more meaningful practices. In practical terms, we ensure:

  • Transparency in our practices and pricing
  • Respect for our partners and local communities
  • Protection of the environment on every trip

We also encourage travellers to take simple steps to protect the places they visit and foster rewarding encounters.

Since 2025, Grand Angle has held Travelife Partner status, an international label that certifies our responsible practices in environmental protection, ethics and sustainable management, both within our company and in our work with partners and the organisation of our trips.

This label, the second level of a rigorous international certification scheme, recognises our concrete actions in support of responsible tourism. We are actively working towards the next level, Travelife Certified, in line with our sustainable development policy

For cycling

  • Cycling shorts or tights, depending on the season
  • Cycling gloves
  • A helmet (confirm availability if requesting bike hire)
  • Sunglasses (for protection from the sun, wind and small flying insects)
  • A windproof jacket
  • T-shirts or cycling jerseys
  • A handlebar map holder
  • A water bottle

Note: synthetic technical clothing performs very well. New merino wool clothing is also available; it performs very well, is comfortable to wear and has the advantage of resisting sweat odours (brands include Icebreaker, Ruka, etc.)!
As a general rule, avoid cotton, which makes you cold when wet.

For your lunchtime picnic

  • A plastic bowl or plate
  • Cutlery (spoon, fork, knife)

For protection from sun and rain

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • A hat, cap or bucket hat (helmet)
  • A windproof jacket
  • A rain poncho or a “Gore-Tex” jacket

After the day’s activities

  • A jumper or fleece
  • Comfortable trousers for walking
  • Shorts
  • A tracksuit or a change of clothes
  • A lightweight long-sleeved cotton shirt
  • A pair of running-style trainers for the evening
  • Spare clothes and underwear
  • Toiletry bag
  • A small first-aid kit: personal medication, adhesive bandages, paraffin gauze or “2nd skin”, gauze, antiseptic, arnica granules and aspirin for minor ailments …

To carry your belongings

  • If your bike does not have panniers, bring a comfortable small 40l backpack with a waist belt to carry your personal belongings and picnic lunch during the day. If you have a luggage rack, you can secure your bag to it with bungee cords. Bikes rented through the option offered by Grand Angle come with panniers
  • A bag for luggage transfers: a backpack or travel bag in good condition

—  We recommend this trip. The itineraries are easy.

Jean 9/28/26

—  This route has a lot of traffic; the hotels in Tréguier and Paimpol are located on the outskirts for cyclists. A visit to Bréhat is nice, but from the Hôtel les Hauts de Kerano, you have to walk 20 minutes, take a bus to the train station, and then take the boat.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Cycling routes along the Brittany coast sometimes follow roads shared with cars, and traffic can vary depending on the time of year. However, we strive to prioritize routes that run as close to the coast as possible, which is generally appreciated by our travelers.

As for accommodations, we choose establishments for their charm, the quality of their hospitality, and their amenities—such as the pool and restaurant in Minihy-Tréguier. In Paimpol, the hotel was also selected for the quality of its services and its welcoming attitude toward cyclists. We understand, however, that their locations may not suit everyone. To visit Bréhat, you can cycle directly from the hotel to the ferry terminal (7.5 km).

We hope you nevertheless enjoyed exploring Brittany by bike, and we look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back for a future stay.
