Organised Travel on the Camino de Santiago Routes

Walking the Camino de Santiago is an experience that goes far beyond a simple walking holiday: an immersion in landscapes and history that have shaped Europe. Drawing on its expertise since 1983, Grand Angle, the travel agency specialising in walking holidays, takes care of all the logistics so you can focus on what matters most: the rhythm of your footsteps, the people you meet and the beauty of the trail.

Our 7 days trips on the Camino de Santiago routes allow you to discover a section of the trail in ideal conditions. For walkers keen to go further, several sections can be combined into a trip lasting 2, 3 weeks or even up to 12 weeks to walk the full length of the French routes (Vézelay, Le Puy and the routes through south-western France) and the Camino Francés in Spain.

Whether you choose the companionship of a group trip or the flexibility of a self-guided holiday, we support you along the most beautiful stages in France and Spain. Explore our itineraries from 7 to 11 days and find the section that calls to you for your next holiday:

Whether you are seeking a spiritual journey, a pilgrimage, a physical challenge or simply a chance to switch off, the Camino de Santiago routes cater to many different aspirations. This is an opportunity to walk through regions with exceptionally rich heritage, from the high plateaus of Aubrac to the vineyards of Rioja, passing through villages and historic towns along the way. If you prefer the friendly atmosphere and reassurance of travelling with a group, our guided walking holidays are for you. Led by one of our experts on the Camino, you benefit from their knowledge of the wildlife, plants, local history and anecdotes that bring the route to life. Your guide takes care of the logistics and the group, leaving you free to enjoy the shared experience.

Which section should you choose, and when should you go?

The iconic routes in France and Spain

The variety of routes is one of the Camino’s greatest strengths. The Via Podiensis, starting in Le Puy-en-Velay, is the most popular route in France, renowned for its beautiful scenery, particularly on the Aubrac plateau. It is an ideal section for a first experience, as some of our travellers describe on the blog: 4 days on the Camino de Santiago. The next stretch, from Aubrac to Conques, takes you through an authentic, unspoilt part of France. If you are considering walking the entire route, our guide to the Via Podiensis follows it for 750 km to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, passing through the cloister in Moissac. In Spain, the Camino Francés takes you through Castile to the ultimate destination, Santiago de Compostela, in an international atmosphere.

The best time to walk the Camino de Santiago

Spring (from April to June) and autumn (September and October) are the most pleasant seasons for walking the Camino. You can enjoy mild temperatures and beautiful colours. Summer is also an option, but some sections can be very hot, particularly in Spain. Travelling outside the busiest periods often means enjoying a quieter atmosphere.

Can you walk the Camino de Santiago as a family?

Absolutely! It is a wonderful opportunity to share an adventure across generations and pass on a love of walking and discovery. To make the experience enjoyable for everyone, we have designed dedicated itineraries with shorter daily walks and comfortable accommodation. Feel free to explore our family-friendly holidays on the Camino de Santiago or contact our travel advisers to plan a tailor-made trip.
