This route is much more than a simple coastal hike. It is an immersion in Catalan culture, a journey between two countries that share a rich history and a strong identity. Each stage reveals new treasures: the colourful charm of Collioure, the terraced vineyards of Banyuls, and the unique atmosphere of Cadaqués, the whitewashed village that so inspired Dalí.
The trail continually alternates between coastal panoramas and ridge paths offering sweeping views down to the Mediterranean. You will cross the Albères massif, the final mountain barrier of the #Pyrenees, before venturing into the spectacular Cap de Creus Natural Park. This is a chance to discover secluded coves, ideal for a refreshing break away from the bustle.
The distinctive light of the Côte Vermeille has drawn many painters. In Collioure, you will follow in the footsteps of Matisse and Derain, pioneers of Fauvism. As you arrive in Cadaqués, you will feel Salvador Dalí’s influence all around you. This trek is a true open-air art gallery, where every landscape seems like a masterpiece.
At Grand Angle, we know that every traveller has their own preferences. That is why we offer different ways to explore the Catalan coast, all with one thing in common: meticulous organisation to give you peace of mind.
Travelling from Collioure to Cadaqués on a self-guided trip means choosing independence without the logistical constraints. We take care of booking quality accommodation, transporting your luggage between each stage, and providing detailed route notes with GPS tracks. You walk at your own pace, stopping wherever and whenever you wish, with the reassurance of support behind the scenes whenever you need it.

Walking remains the best way to immerse yourself in these places. The route follows sections of the famous coastal path (GR92) and vineyard trails, offering a natural progression and remarkable views each day.
For those who want to cover more distance or approach the terrain differently, our electric mountain bike route is an excellent alternative. It connects the main sights while letting you enjoy the thrill of cycling on suitable trails.
The most pleasant times for this hike are spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October). You will enjoy mild temperatures, abundant natural beauty and fewer visitors. Summer is also an option, but the heat can make walking more demanding.
This trek is moderate in difficulty. It is suitable for people who hike regularly. Each stage involves daily ascents and descents, and the trails can be rocky in places. A good level of fitness is recommended to make the most of every day’s walking.

— Beautiful scenery and a very pleasant route. Please note, however, that for us, the advertised times were shorter than they actually were (participants over 60 but regular walkers).

— Very satisfied with this week of hiking. Grand Angle gave us good information. The circuits were precise. No problem finding our way around. Luggage transportation was a definite plus.
